The search is on for singers to perform at a special concert at Lichfield Cathedral.

The Mikado will be narrated by the city’s MP Michael Fabricant on June 13 and is open to everyone who enjoys singing, whatever their experience or age.

The famous Gilbert and Sullivan score will be issued to all performers on the day of the concert for a 2pm rehearsal (until 4pm).

The performers will then take part in the 7.30pm concert on the same day and will sing along with the Cathedral Chamber Choir, Cathedral Special Choir and Choral Societies.

Cathy Lamb, Assistant Director of Music said of the event:

“Everybody loves Gilbert and Sullivan and particularly The Mikado. It would be wonderful if we could fill the Cathedral with all ages and abilities of singers to be our chorus. The afternoon rehearsal will teach you all you need to know so hope you will join us!“

The event is helping to raise funds for the maintenance and upkeep of the Cathedral. To book tickets just contact the Cathedral Shop on 01543 306150 or call in to No. 9, The Close.

Alternatively you can make a donation online. For more details on fundraising please contact Tracy Withers on 01543 306120 or email fundraising@lichfield-cathedral.org
