The stolen JCB

Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Regeneration Trust are appealing for information after a JCB was stolen from one of their sites.

The yellow JCB 804 was stolen from the Tamworth Road site sometime between Wednesday 17th and Saturday 20th June. It is believed that the machine was forcibly removed and taken along the footpath to a bus stop lay-by near the traffic lights at the junction of Tamworth Road and Gorse Lane.

Bob Williams, of the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Regeneration Trust is urging anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact him on 01453 671427 or by e-mail at bob.williams@lhcrt.org.uk or to contact Staffordshire Police directly.     I am determined to live long enough – current estimate I’ll be 124 – to be on the first narrowboat on the Lichfield canal. I hope the JCB was insured and that there are no excess charges. I don’t want to have to wait until I am 151!
