Burntwood Town FC manager Mike Gentles is hoping to put the misery of last season behind him as he prepares for the new term in the Midland Combination Division One.
Town endured a miserable season as a succession of changes to the playing squad and injuries hit the side hard.
But Gentles has vowed to pick the club up and push on this year.
Speaking on the club’s new website, he said:
“I want to put last season behind me, but we can take a few plus points and learn from our mistakes. We had a number of our youth team – who once again won trophies – come into the first team. Next season will be big for both me as a manager and Burntwood as a club. I have the backing of the board and have big plans for the season ahead.”
