Burntwood Leisure Leagues football round-up

Young Guns

Young Guns

Young Guns are nicely placed in third spot of the Burntwood Sunday Leisure Leagues Premier Division as they sneaked through 2-1 against PSV Hangover side.

Claret N Blues saw off struggling FC Firm by the same scoreline, whilst Fortress picked up their first point of the campaign with a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Wolfsburg Dubs.

LGG FC claimed a 3-0 success over Panthers Old & Passed It in the First Division, whilst Averages Joes also smashed three past Real Betis Hot Pot without reply.

Burntwood AFC only need to better Beercalona’s result on the final day of the Monday Premier Division season following a 2-0 win over Bottom FC. They lie top on goal difference from Beercalona who claimed a 3-0 success against relegated Greebo FC.

The same situation stands at the top of Division One with Manaconk FC lying a point clear after their 1-0 win against Athletico Chasetown, and they will need to at least equal Real Brownhills’ result as they saw off Moredrawsthanthelotto via the same scoreline.

IYM FC’s 2-2 draw with Team Tek in Division Two gave PSV Hangover a slight chance of glory on the final day as they beat Deportivo La Catalent 3-0, although they would need to win and hope their rivals slip-up on the final day.

Grasping At Straws are favourites for the Third Division title after a 2-0 win over Team Salad, although the two sides directly below them could still pip them to glory. Multiple Scorgasm’s 8-2 mauling of The Green FC was the highlight of the penultimate day.
