On Wednesday 22nd July, Beacon Park will be visiting by the council’s mobile leisure team who will be putting on “Mambo’s Fun Day“. The session will run from 12 noon till 2pm and there will be fun and games, inflatables, arts and crafts and music to enjoy. The day will cost £4 for each child and £3 for any other child in the family. Booking isn’t required, families can simply turn up on the day.

Wendy Sweatman, Community Leisure Officer for Mobile Leisure, said: “This should be a really fun day and we’re all keeping our fingers crossed for fine weather. Join us for fun and games, and remember your picnics.”

There will also be a range of activities for under 5s, thanks to some funding from Tamworth Community and Learning Partnerships. The Mobile Leisure Team will be visiting Elford, Edingale, Hopwas, Fazeley and Mile Oak to put on cooking, dance and movement and arts and crafts sessions for the little ones.

Wendy Sweatman added: “We’re delighted to be able to offer under 5s the opportunity to play for free. There are some really fun sessions so call me now on 01543 308766 to book your child’s place. And, if there is room on the day, older brothers and sisters can join in too.”

You can find out more by looking at Lichfield District Council’s free activities for under 5s timetable.

And there will be activities for older kids, too with the team of mobile Play Rangers visiting parks across Lichfield district to organise activities such as football coaching weeks and play days.

A full list of activities can be found on the Summer timetable or you can contact the Mobile Leisure team on 01543 308 766.
