Sensei Frank Brennan

All karate eyes will be on Lichfield when one of the leading instructors comes to the city.

Sensei Frank Brennan will be holding a training and grading event with Lichfield and District Karate Club.

The event takes place at King Edward VI Leisure Centre on August 18 and will see around 80 people take part.

Sensei Brennan has won the Grand Championship of Europe and led his team to victory in the World Shotokan Championships in 1990.

Lichfield and District Karate Club’s Patrick D’arcy told The Lichfield Blog he was delighted to welcome such a high-profile visitor. He added:

“We in the Karate Union of Great Britain use one of our professional grading instructors rather than the club instructor doing them so the standard can be kept high.”

Training runs from 10.30am to 12noon, with gradings following from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. Visitors are welcome to go along and watch the training event.
