The annual Civic Service, when Lichfield District councillors pledge their commitment to Lichfield District residents has taken place at Lichfield Cathedral.

As part of Lichfield District Council’s Civic Service, recently appointed Chairman of Lichfield District Council, Councillor Joseph Powell, led the Act of Commitment. He invited parish, district and county councillors to acknowledge their responsibility to the community and pledge their commitment to the service of the people of Lichfield District.

After the service on July 26, guests joined the Chairman for lunch at the Guildhall, where he took the opportunity to thank all the representatives of the local and neighbouring community for backing Lichfield District councillors in their Act of Commitment.

Joseph Powell, Chairman of Lichfield District Council, said:

“It has been a great honour to lead my fellow councillors in the Act of Commitment. I would like to thank Lichfield Cathedral for a beautiful service, and everyone who made the day so special for their support.”
