Lichfield medical centre calls for views on new pharmacy plan

The Spires Practice

The Spires Practice

A Lichfield medical centre is urging patients to have their say on a proposed new pharmacy.

The Spires Practice on Dimbles Lane have reached a provisional agreement with Lloyd’s Pharmacy to run a small outlet next to health centre.

The proposal came about following the closure of the nearby Alliance Pharmacy.

But in a letter made available to patients, The Spires Practice have claimed that the community are “missing the presence of a pharmacy in the centre of the community”.

And they have called on patients to provide evidence that there is a need for a new pharmacy in the area.

The letter adds:

“People have told us that they find it very inconvenient to have to travel to any of the pharmacies currently available and have said that, through lack of transport and/or poor mobility, they find it very difficult to access other pharmacies.”

At present patients have to travel into Lichfield city centre or visit the Your Boots Local pharmacy at the Langton Grange Medical Centre off Eastern Avenue.
