Chasetown FC’s pre-season friendly against Walsall on August 10 has been called off. No reason has been given for the postponement of the game, but a statement from Chasetown said that both teams are “disappointed” but had no option but to cancel the match. The Scholars spoksesperson added that the game is likely to be rescheduled, but no date has yet been given. The cancellation comes on the back of their friendly with Tamworth being cancelled and means Charlie Blakemore’s men are likely to go into their Unibond League opener at Lincoln United on August 15 with only one more pre-season game under their belt. Chasetown’s friendly against Nantwich Town tomorrow (August 8th) will still go ahead. Kick-off is 3pm.
