A free environment-themed event is set to take place in Lichfield.
North Lichfield Initiative, supported by Lichfield District Council, Lichfield City Council, HomeZone Living and other organisations, community groups and local volunteers, are organising the Environment On Your Doorstep event.
The day will feature stalls, entertainment and activities all on the environmental theme – which includes recycling, energy conservation and wildlife.
Highlights of the event – which takes place from 10.30am-3.30pm on September 12 – include a fishing taster session which can be booked by calling 01543 308867, bike health checks and circus skills demonstrations.
Environmentally friendly activities – such as tepee, tin can walkie talkies, willow making, drumming and lantern workshops – will also be taking place. On top of this, there will be a chance for visitors to find out how big their carbon footprint is.
Mike Fryers, Chair Person of North Lichfield Initiative’s Environment and Transport Group, said:
“This will be a wonderful day out for all the family. From fantastic free workshops through to finding out more about the local wildlife and environment, there will be so much to do and see. We hope lots of people will come along to join in the celebrations. This is a huge event to organise and I’d like to thank all the agencies and volunteers for your hard work and help.”
North Lichfield Initiative is also inviting local people to bring along any unwanted bras, eye glasses and mobile phones so they can be recycled for charity.
