The magic of the Last Night at the Proms is set to be recreated at the Lichfield Garrick. A 35-piece orchestra perform classical music and pieces from films and musicals based around the theme of entertainment and fun on September 19. From Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Dance of the Mirlitons (Fruit and Nutcase) to Jamaican Rhumba, Sailing By, The Peanut Vendor, London’s Calling, Overture Iolanthe, It’s That March Again, The Sandpaper Ballet, Mary Poppins, Gabriel’s Oboe, Pirates of the Caribbean, Knightsbridge March, Pomp and Circumstance No1, Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia, Sailors Horn Pipe and Jerusalem, there is music for everyone. A spokesperson for the Lichfield Garrick said:
“Wave those flags, blow your whistles and exercise your lungs to raise the roof in a great patriotic night of music and fun.”
