Lichfield’s pantomime dame will swap his frock for an evening suit as he celebrates four decades of American hits.

Ian Adams brings The Great American Songbook to the Lichfield Garrick on September 25.

The show takes in everything from the early hits of Tin Pan Alley, when such luminaries as Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern and the Gershwin’s were King, through to the great Broadway musical era of Rodgers, Hart and Hammerstein to the golden age of the movie songwriters, Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen and Sammy Cahn.

Visitors will hear the stories behind the songs and tributes to such stars as Al Jolson, Judy Garland and one of the greatest exponents of the genre, Frank Sinatra.

Tickets are priced £15 and £17 and are available via the Lichfield Garrick website or by calling the box office on 01543 412121.
