The parents of a man killed on the A38 near Lichfield have thanked his friends for giving their son a “lovely” send off.

Rich Hall died as he crossed the carriageway to his home near Alrewas in August.

Friends and family of the popular 21-year-old said their final farewells to him in an emotional service at Alrewas All Saints Church on August 25.

And his parents have now thanked his friends for giving their son a fitting send off and donating towards a permanent memorial. A family spokesperson said:

“Rich’s mum and dad want to say thank you to everyone who attended the funeral. It was a lovely send off. And they also want to say a big thanks to those who donated towards Rich’s memorial bench and tree. The making of the bench will now be started and will hopefully be ready soon.

“They would also like to say thanks for all their cards and kind messages. It is nice to know Rich had so many friends.
