Advice for Lichfield and Burntwood firms on energy issues

rethink-energy-logoBusinesses in Lichfield and Burntwood are being offered the chance to prepare for the energy challenges of tomorrow at a free environmental event.

RE:think Energy, which is supported by Staffordshire County Council and funded by Advantage West Midlands, has joined forces with Midlands Environmental Business Company to host the session on October 15.

Public and private sector organisations across the West Midlands that are concerned about soaring energy costs, environmental legislation and the impact they are having on the atmosphere are invited to attend the conference.

A whole host of topics will be explored including how climate change is affecting businesses, government legislation and the need to reduce carbon emissions. Renewable technology and its application in industry will also be discussed along with how being green can boost profits.

Guests can play an active role in the session by joining in with the interactive workshops which will cover solar power, wind power, ground/air source heat pumps and biomass.

The team will also look at what businesses need to consider when starting their own renewable energy project, highlighting success stories as well as potential pitfalls of each technology.

Councillor Mike Maryon, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet member for Environment and Countryside, said:

“This free event will arm businesses with the knowledge they need to face both the financial and environmental challenges that lie ahead. The tips and advice given out will not only empower companies to help in the fight against climate change but will also help them to save money in the future – a prospect which is now more appealing than ever. I would urge people to book their place as soon as possible as this event will definitely be in demand.”

The conference will run from 9am-4.30pm and is set to take place at The Moathouse Hotel, Acton Trussell. A buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.
