The Lichfield Garrick’s new pantomime has been officially launched.
The theatre has teamed up once again with Hiss and Boo to bring the family favourite Aladdin to the city’s stage.
TV chef Rustie Lee is set to play the role of the Genie in this year’s show, which will run from November 17 to January 9.
Rustie will star alongside Garrick’s favourite funny man Barnaby as Wishee Washee and Writer/Director Ian Adams as Widow Twankey.
Adrian Jackson, Artistic Director of the Lichfield Garrick, said:
“There’ll be thrills, spills and lots of laughter in this year’s magical pantomime. This will be a Christmas must-see, guaranteed to put you in the festive spirit. Expect an all singing, all dancing all laughing family pantomime experience!”
The show sees an ancient curse decrees that on her 18th birthday the Princess Balroubadour must meet and marry a Prince of Royal blood. However the wicked Abanazer has other ideas. Aided by his magical slave he seeks the legendary enchanted lamp that can grant wishes beyond your wildest dreams. However he has not reckoned with the hero Aladdin and his family.
