Lichfield City FC manager Dean Gilbert is threatening to make changes to his squad after they drew 1-1 with Droitwich.

The city side took the lead early on in last Saturday’s game but missed a number of chances before conceding an equaliser following a deflection.

And a disappointed Gilbert believes his side must get ruthless if they are to achieve their aims this season – even if it means bringing in new players to achieve that. He said:

“Once again we gifted a poor goal to a team that should have been dead and buried before half-time. New signings need to be made and will be it seems some players cant perform at this level.

“I don’t like to be negative but at the moment we are not consistent. We have lost one game this season and have dominated every game we have played in apart from the loss we suffered. If we had picked up the points we have dropped by daft goals being conceded then we would be second in the table.”

And Lichfield won’t have it easy as they seek to get back to winning ways as they travel to high-flying Hampton on Saturday (September 26).
