Worth Brothers' wine tasting event at Chandlers

Lichfield’s independent wine merchants, Worth Brothers, has both relaunched its website and announced a series of tasting events including an evening at Chandler’s Bar and Restaurant on Tuesday October 20th.

Following two sold-out evenings on European wine, this event will celebrate Australian food and wine, kicking off with a tasting (7pm to 9pm) in which owners Tim and Richard Worth talk guests through a selection of regional Aussie wines made from many different grape varieties including Taltarni Brut Tache Sparkling Rose (£12.50) and Melton Cabernet Sauvignon (£22.50).

From 9pm onwards, guests will sit down to a three-course meal comprising beetroot, feta and toasted macadamia nut salad; braised kangaroo and Shiitake mushroom pie and caramelised peach melba with a vanilla Chantilly cream (a vegetarian main is available). Tickets cost £27.50 per head and are selling fast; the wine prices quoted above are retail prices, however you can buy any of the nine featured wines to enjoy with your meal for only £5 corkage per bottle.

Worth Brothers can be found at The Cellars, Cathedral House, Beacon Street, Lichfield Tel: 01543 262051, and tickets for this event can be purchased from Chandlers on Tel: 01543 416688.
