Lichfield businesses were among the winners at the 2009 Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Awards. More than 70 restaurants, pubs, brasseries, tea-rooms, visitor attractions and banqueting venues entered the awards, which recognise quality, excellence and the use of local products in the county’s food and drink industry.

The ceremony was held at Staffordshire County Showground, Stafford on October 6. Councillor Ian Parry, Deputy Leader of Staffordshire County Council, presented awards to winners in the nine individual categories, in front of an audience of almost 400. Competition judge Richard Morrey, Managing Director from Service Science Limited, who presented the Personal Award for Outstanding Service, said:
“It has been a tough year for the food and drink sector and we hope that the competition will help raise the profile of businesses that provide high quality, locally sourced food, drink and deliver exceptional quality.
