Lichfield RUFC captain calls for standards to be maintained

Lichfield RUFC captain Dave Bassett sees no reason why his side’s run of good form cannot continue – but has urged his team-mates not to rest on their laurels.

With another win chalked up against Stafford last weekend, Lichfield head into their clash with Stourbridge on Saturday (October 10) with their tails up.

But despite the confidence in the camp, Bassett believes the key to continuing their good form will be to remain grounded. He added:

“We are obviously confident going into Saturday’s game. However, we will not be under estimating Stourbridge. They are a big club capable of putting out a very good side and gave us a difficult game away last season.”

Lichfield will be without Mark Rose after he picked up a knock last weekend, but Matt Brown will be back in contention for the first team after a spell with seconds.

Long term injuries will still keep Greg Massey, Wiemen Ho and Zak Schingler out of the line-up.
