Families in Lichfield are being invited to a number of free events run by the county council in celebration of this year’s Parents’ Week.
Events will be taking place at community buildings in and around Lichfield.
The week’s activities include free family activity sessions such as Rhymetime and Little Stars parent and toddler group, for parents with pre-school children with a development difficulty, as well as a number of opportunities for parents to access information and advice about the wide range of local services and activities that are available all year round.
County councillor Ian Parry, Lead Member for Children and Young People said:
“Parents’ Week is now in its tenth year. It’s a real opportunity to recognise the work done by county council practitioners to support families across Lichfield but it’s also a reason to celebrate family life and an opportunity for parent’s to find out what’s available in their area.”
Staffordshire’s Commissioner for Parents, Charlotte Bailey added:
“The county council is hosting a great range of free family friendly activities and advice sessions to mark Parents’ Week. It shows a real desire to support local parents, an intention that will be cemented further with the launch of the county’s Parenting Strategy next month.”
