fireworksShopkeepers in Burntwood and Lichfield are being warned that they may be offered stolen fireworks.

A large quantity of fireworks, worth around £12,000, were taken by burglars from a container on a farm in Penkridge.

The owner reported the crime after being contacted by a shopkeeper who was offered some of the fireworks.

The stolen fireworks are branded SP and include Halloween Ghost Rockets, Infinity Rockets, Stardust Barrage Rockets and Illusion Barrage Rockets.

Sgt Tim Heap, from Watling neighbourhood policing unit, said:

“We’re keen to speak to anyone who has been offered the fireworks to help us trace the offenders. Fireworks should always be handled responsibly and could be dangerous if they fall into the wrong hands.”
