It was groundhog day in the nicest possible way for Lichfield City as, for the second consecutive Saturday, they recorded a 3-0 victory over Feckenham.
Dean Gilbert’s men, who knocked Feckenham out of the Jack Mould Trophy seven days earlier, defeated their Worcestershire opponents by the same score at Brownsfield Park – this time in the Midland Combination Second Division.
First-half strikes from captain Danny Worrall and top-scorer Jon Rob Dutton (2) sealed the win for City, who had Liam Holt sent off in the second-half for a two-footed tackle.
Manager Dean Gilbert said:
“Feckenham are a decent team and we’ve put six past them in two games and kept back-to-back clean sheets. We seem to have found a bit of form, so long may it continue.”
City are back on home soil on Saturday (October 31) as Enville Athletic visit Brownsfield Park (kick-off 2pm).
