The winners of a photography contest in Lichfield have been announced.

John Godley was named winner of the adult category of the competition organised by Lichfield District Council to celebrate Love Parks Week, while 11 year-old Jake Smith was chosen as the winner of the under 16s category.

The winning photos have been published as special edition Beacon Park postcards, and both John and Jake won a family ticket to see the Lichfield Garrick’s festive family pantomime Aladdin.

Councillor Val Richards, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, said:

“We were all very impressed with the high level of photography and the final postcards look wonderful. I would like to thank everyone for entering the competition and congratulate both the winners for their marvellous photography skills.”

The postcards are now on sale for 20p at Beacon Park’s Golf Hut and the Tourist Information Centre in the Lichfield Garrick.
