The landlord of a Lichfield pub has shown he has real Pedigree by earning an award from a leading brewery.
The famous Marston’s Brewery presented Ken Gardner with a plaque for being one of their very best customers.
Ken, who runs the Fox and Hounds in Shenstone, Lichfield, with wife Doreen received the plaque as a thank you for being one of Britain’s top sellers of Marston’s Pedigree beer as the brewery celebrates its 175th anniversary.
A delighted Ken said:
“Pedigree has always been a popular beer, traditional and tasty and provided you keep it right, it never varies. It’s great to receive the plaque but the praise should really go to the people who keep coming in and drinking it.”
The pub, which is a favourite with Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) members, always has four cask beers on sale and at the moment if offering Three Spires created by the Shenstone Brewing Company.
Ken added:
“It’s great to support a small local brewery like this and the Three Spires is proving really popular. We are hoping to be the first to trial their brand new beer Dr Johnson’s which will be ready in the very near future.”
