Lichfield Leisure Leagues football round-up

Ice Pack took an early lead in Lichfield Sunday six-a-side league after beating Bassett’s Allsorts 2-0.

Last season’s champions Gash Wanderers were toppled 1-0 by The Galacticos, while YMA managed the same score against FC Licho.

The tight games continued in division one with Rugeley FC cruising 2-0 against Real Sosobad, while the odd goal in three was enough for Boley Explosion to beat Clifton Rovers.

The pick of the other games saw Galacticos sneak home by the only goal of the game as the beat GW.

Monkeys Punk had a difficult task of beating bottom side Banana Grove to claim the Monday title, who desperately needed the points for other reasons. But they completed the job with a 3-0 win.

Boley Park Academy pushed Punk all the way, but had to settle for runners up spot, despite recording a last day victory over Old Heads, also 3-0.

Banana Grove’s defeat saw them relegated to the First Division, and they were joined by Rugeley Wanderers who suffered a 1-0 reverse against Colin Lees Adopted Son.

Taste The Beast will be playing top flight football next season, as they clinched the First Division title with a 4-2 defeat of Norfolk . They will be joined in the Premier Division by Family United FC, who scraped past Six On Legs, 1-0.

Sporting are looking strong in the early stages of the Tuesday league as they remain unbeaten following a 2-0 defeat of Bayern Neverlosin.

Lichfield Crown sit in second spot as they were held to a goalless draw by FC No Chance.

Pathetic Athletic were the nights highest scorers as they tamed Big Dawgs in a 5-2 victory.

Elsewhere Rugeley FC finally got off the mark, and did so in impressive fashion, seeing off K.E.D 4-1.
