Burntwood Leisure Leagues football round-up

A 2-0 scoreline proved popular in the Burntwood Sunday six-a-side Premier League as no fewer than five of the games ended that way.

The top two – The Trotters Return Again, PSV Hangover– all managed that scoreline against Fortress, Heavyweights and respectively, and mid-table White Horse secured their first victory of the campaign by beating FC Firm.

Completing the quintet were Wolfsburg Dubs who eased out Burntwood Reds.

The pattern didn’t continue into division one but Pelsall Predators maintained their 100 per cent record with a single goal triumph over Pelsall Predators, while second placed LGCC lost their winning start after a goalless draw with Kings of Zimbabwe.

Not So Pro were the day’s big victors, beating The Untouchables 3-0, with Warriors securing their inaugural points of the season as they dismissed One Hit Wanderers 2-0.

Finally Real Betis Hotpot – 1-0 victors over The Big Devils – and Burntwood 6, who edged Barclay Boys by the odd goal in three –both stay within a point of the lead.

Champions Burntwood AFC got off to a flying start to the new campaign and eased out Athletico Chasetown 3-1 in the Monday league.

Elsewhere it was 2-0 scorelines all the way, as Manaconk FC, Definitelymaybe, and Real Brownhills beat Beercelona, Bottom FC and Los Galacticos.

AFC Clayhanger might have finished in mid-table last term in division one, but raced into an early lead this time around, beating ADCDEFC 4-1, Fibatrim saw off Moredrawsthanthelotto 3-1 as star striker Gee bagged a brace, while it was a point apiece for Braziliant and KDDDD as drew they 2-2.

Burntwood Villa and Day Release both got off to a solid starts in division two winning 2-1 against FC Sporting and The Day Release respectively and Team Chase and Linford Athletic will be pleased with their 2-2 draw.

Team Salad are looking very much the team to beat in division three – especially if Tyrone Barnett continues his form, he scored six goals in their 12-1 destruction of Adidas All-Stars.

Deportivo La Coratalent made the headlines elsewhere beating Burntwood Villains 5-2, while Green beat Scales FC 2-0 but only after their keeper weighed in with a magnificent display.

Finally Bobby Dazzlers shone in a 2-0 cruise over Multiple Scoregasm.
