Pupils from Lichfield and Burntwood schools are set to perform at a Christmas concert at Lichfield Cathedral.

The December 4 concert has been organised by Staffordshire Performing Arts as part of the Festival of Christmas Music programme which sees concerts will be taking place across the county throughout the festive month.

A variety of pieces will be performed at the concert including favourites such as Joy to the World, O Come All Ye Faithful and Away in a Manger will be sure to get everyone in the festive mood.

Choirs from St Michael’s Primary School, Bridgtown Primary School, Penkridge Middle School, Ridgeway Primary School, Codsall Middle School, Five Ways Primary School, Christchurch Primary School, Hagley Park Sports College and Fair Oak Business and Enterprise College will be singing a whole host of Christmas songs, accompanied by members of the East Staffordshire Youth Orchestra.

County Councillor and Lead Cabinet Member for Children and Young People Ian Parry said:

“The Festival of Christmas music is always extremely popular because it brings local choirs, schools and orchestras together in a celebration of the festive season. This concert is one of six taking place across the county, showcasing local talent of local young people and the excellent musicianship of our local ensembles.”

The concert begins at 7.30pm on December 4 in Lichfield Cathedral. To book tickets call Mark Lippett on 01785 278284.
