Tickets are still available for a unique musical concert in Lichfield.

Lady Georgianna will be bringing the sounds and sights of the 18th Century to the Lichfield Guildhall on December 6 at 2pm.

The concert is being organised by The Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum and will see the trio of talented musicians perform their show Ladies of Misrule in period costume.

Inspired by the pleasure gardens of Georgian London and based on the adventures of Fanny Burney’s Evelina, the afternoon of entertainment will feature the music of Handel, Arne and other composers from Johnson’s time.

Joanne Wilson from the Birthplace Museum said:

“We are delighted to welcome Lady Georgianna to the Guildhall. They are wonderful performers with a witty twist, and it will be a finale to the tercentenary celebrations not to be missed.”

Tickets for the concert cost £8 and will be available on the door of the Guildhall (doors open 1.45pm), or can be reserved in advance from the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum. Visit Lichfield Special Offers card holders can get a further special discount on their tickets.

For anyone wanting an early festive treat, a special concert package is available including a three course historical Georgian lunch at Thrales Restaurant followed by the concert. (Note: The concert package is only available in advance from the Museum).
