Ruth Witczak, Andy Turner, Kellie Wall, Jude Peters, Jack Turner, and Ginnie-May Turner get launch Carols in the Park

Lichfield residents are being urged to get into the Christmas spirit with a Carols in the Park event.

The outdoor concert takes place in Beacon Park on December 12 and includes sing along favourites such as O Come All Ye Faithful and Ding Dong Merrily on High.

Carols in the Park will be led by singers from Bella Musica! and Lichfield Operatic Society, accompanied by the Lichfield Girl Guides leaders and musicians from local churches. They will lead the singing of Christmas carols and songs in Museum Gardens (Beacon Street entrance by the registry office) from 6pm.

Councillor Val Richards, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said:

“Get into the real spirit of Christmas and come along to Carols in the Park. The event is free, but there will be a bucket collection if anyone would like to make a donation. All donations will go to Christian Aid and next year’s Lichfield Proms. Don’t forget to wrap up warm and bring a torch.”

Ken Knowles, Lichfield’s Town Crier and this year’s Proms in the Park compere, will be getting audiences into the festive spirit by introducing the carols as well as telling a few funny stories throughout the night.

Warm up while you listen to the festive carols with hot food and drink from the park catering pod. Free mince pies have kindly been donated by Midlands Co-op, Hindleys Bakery, Greggs and Morrisons.

  1. Celebrate you Christmas with your family and friends arranging a small get together. London catering would make your small gathering into a cozy memorable party. The food and the presentation at Christmas, could be highly presentable and attractive.
