The future of Christian Fields in Lichfield is up for discussion at a meeting in the city.

The December 14 meeting at the Jigshaw Shop on Dimbles Lane follows a similar gathering in October.

Following the success of that first meeting about the former landfill site off Eastern Avenue, Lichfield District Council’s countryside team will hold the follow-up meeting from 6pm to 8pm.

Local people, organisations and groups have been working on plans to transform the site and anyone who is interested in helping to create a haven for wildlife in Lichfield is welcome to attend.

Cllr Mike Fryers, Lichfield District councillor and Chair Person of North Lichfield Initiative’s Environment and Transport Group, said:

“Our last meeting was really positive, and there were lots of good suggestions for the site. These included creating a wildflower meadow, bird hides, new paths, a picnic area, and restoring a BMX track for children.

“We hope lots of local people will come along to give us their views, and hopefully get involved in the Friends of Christian Fields Group. So, please do join us at the meeting to find out more.”
