Lichfield Cathedral
A series of special services are set to celebrate Christmas at Lichfield Cathedral. Town crier Ken Knowles will be calling locals to join the Shoppers’ Carol Services tomorrow (December 19), while December 23 sees the Lichfield Cathedral Chamber Choir take centre stage at a presentation of music and readings in preparation for Christmas. Three services will take place on Christmas Eve, starting with the Family Crib Service at 3.30pm. A Christmas Sequence takes place at 5.30pm, sung by the Cathedral Choir, before the Midnight Eucharist with the Chamber Choir at 11.30pm. Another three services are held at the Cathedral on Christmas Day. Eucharist is at 8am, while the Cathedral Choir will perform Sung Eucharist at 10.30am. Evening Prayer is said with hymns at the Crib at 5.30pm. December 26 sees the Lichfield Cathedral Carol Service take place at 3.30pm, although the congregation are asked to be seated by 3.15pm.
