People who want to know more about the archaeological find of the century near Lichfield can now have the latest news sent direct to their inbox.

The first edition of the monthly Staffordshire Hoard Partnership e-newsletter will be released in mid-January.

It will include updates on the bid to keep the incomparable Anglo-Saxon golden hoard in the region of its discovery, including the latest events being held around Staffordshire and the West Midlands .

County Councillor Ben Adams, Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture said:

“There is an absolute hunger for information about the Hoard. People want to know how they can get involved in fund-raising. They also want to know the latest on what the experts think the pieces of the Hoard consisted of and how they got where they were discovered.”

People can subscribe to the E-newsletter by visiting the Staffordshire County Council or Stoke-on-Trent City Council website.

At least 90% of hoard should remain in the midlands as a partnership. It will draw revenue and pay for its keep. It will also be available for all because of the convenience of location.

If the majority of the hoard remains in the Midlands it will be accessible to everyone because of its central location.
