snowballSnowballing youngsters are putting lives at risk by targeting cars on busy main roads, police have warned.

During the icy weather, drivers have reported having their vehicle windscreens damaged by snowballs thrown from bridges.

Now, police are urging parents to remind their youngsters of the dangers of such anti-social activities.

Superintendent Selwyn Burton, Deputy Commander of Trent Valley police, which covers Lichfield and Burntwood, said:

“No-one wants to prevent youngsters having a good time enjoying the snowy weather – but there is a point where fun stops and danger begins.

“Although there have only been a small number of incidents so far, we are urging parents in all areas to speak with their youngsters and advise them of the danger of throwing snowballs at vehicles as well as playing on bridges and near main roads.”
