A Lichfield museum is bringing back its free entry initiative.

People will be able to visit Erasmus Darwin House – the Lichfield home of Charles’ grandfather – on January 23 and February 21 for free.

The museum opened in 1999 to help educate people about the life of Erasmus Darwin.

Temporary curator Vanessa Winstone said she hoped the donation days would allow visitors old and new to find out more about the great man.

She explained:

“The days provide a great opportunity to remind yourself of one of Lichfield’s local gems – you may not have even known the museum existed! Or you may have been one of the thousands of people who visited the House way back in 1999 but the New Year is a good time to reacquaint yourself with an important part of Lichfield’s heritage.”
