footballersPeople in Lichfield are being urged to beat the winter blues and ditch those extra festive pounds by joining a local football league.

Leisure Leagues runs games on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights at King Edward VI Leisure Centre and is encouraging new teams to join in.

Leisure Leagues’ Senior Manager Chris Rowntree said:

“This time of year can be a bit of a mundane time. Christmas is over, and the summer seems like a long way off. What better way to make the most of the dark nights, than getting active and playing football under the floodlights?”

Any teams are welcome. Whether it be a group of friends, work mates, or simply a Saturday or Sunday league sides who want a bash at a more technical game.

Teams will be able to track their progress online at www.leisureleagues.net which is updated daily, complete with upcoming fixtures, results, league tables, and even a match report round up for every division. Every match is officiated by a fully qualified UKIFF (United Kingdom Independent Football Federation) referee, maintaining the high standard of the game.
