Students at a Lichfield school will be able to keep a close eye on their feathered friends as part of a Lottery-funded project.

Willows Primary School are one of 12 schools across Staffordshire who have received nestcams as part of the Sharing Spaces project.

The scheme helps schools to develop their grounds to achieve health, educational and environmental benefits for the whole school community. It works with the schools to improve their physical environment as well as increase opportunities for physical activity and play and increase opportunities to produce fruit and vegetables.

County Councillor Veronica Downes, cabinet member for schools, said:

“It is wonderful to see that pupils are being involved in the planning and development to improve their schools grounds through the Sharing Spaces project.  These nestcams are a great way for pupils to learn more about some of the wildlife within their school’s outdoor area.”
