Jon Rob  Dutton took his tally to 18 goals in just 13 league appearances with a stunning hat-trick as Lichfield City recorded a 4-2 victory over Enville Athletic in the Midland Combination Second Division.

Dean Gilbert’s men had to come from behind after Enville took an early lead but Dutton soon restored parity to level things up before half-time.

Enville were back in front just after the break despite City’s dominance. That lead didn’t last long though as Dutton made it 2-2 just moments later.

The City hitman made it 3-2 in the 70th minute before Sam Geffen wrapped things up with a stunning individual strike ten minutes later.  The City substitute picked the ball up on the half way line and beat three players before curling the ball into the top corner beyond the keeper to make it 4-2.

Boss  Gilbert said afterwards:

“We needed to make sure we got a result out of this game. Enville fielded a strong side and brought the game to us from the start but we played some good football once we had settled down and grew in confidence.

“The lads are thriving at the moment and firing on all cylinders.”
