With tough games coming up and having not played for what seems like an eternity this was an ideal game for Lichfield to get up and running again.
The trademark pass and move game was soon evident and it wasn’t long before Edwards opened the scoring with a stab in off a rebound.
Four more were added before the break via a Meehan hat-trick and one from Twine.
A couple of changes were made at the break with Edwards having to go off after a bad tackle, however this didn’t disrupt the free flowing football and more goals soon followed, Twine completing her hat-trick, Hodges with a brace and Gardener with a deserved goal.
The highlight of the game however were goals from Lowther with not one, but two good finishes, giving her her first ever goals for Diamonds since joining three years ago and the player of the match award.
