A Lichfield Police Community Support Officer has been given an award for her work with the community.

PCSO Margaret Griffiths, who works in the Chadsmead area of the city, was given the accolade by Staffordshire Police’s Staff Association for Women in Policing (SAWP).

The Community Service award means that PCSO Griffiths will now be entered into the national awards, the winners of which are announced in March.

Staffordshire Police’s SAWP chair Amanda Davies said:

“The winners are all very deserving, having made fantastic contributions to the force’s performance in delivering an excellent service to the public.

“Women’s contribution to policing is vital and it is very gratifying to see those who have made outstanding efforts in their roles recognised.”
