Lichfield City FC will be expecting a tough test when they travel to Henley Forest in the Midland Combination Second Division.

Just three points separate the two sides with sixth-placed City just one place above their seventh-placed hosts and boss Dean Gilbert is expecting an even contest on Saturday (February 27).

He explained:

“Henley are a good side. They are the same as us in a lot of ways. They have good footballers in their side but they can switch their play to out-battle sides.

“Saturday is a real six-pointer for us and a game we just have to win. It’s the start of a number of away games on the trot but it is important that we keep picking up points.”

City’s Jack Mould Trophy quarter final trip to Kenilworth Town KH, which fell foul of the weather last weekend, will now be played next Tuesday (March 2).
