Residents to check on speeding drivers in Burntwood

A new group that will see Burntwood residents keep tabs on speeding drivers is being launched.

The Neighbourhood Speedwatch scheme kicks off today (February 26th) and will see residents making regular checks on careless drivers.

Launched with Staffordshire Police backing, residents in the Chase Road area of Burntwood have been trained to use radar speed check guns which will be used to identify speeding drivers who will be sent warning letters from police.

So where is the “New Speedwatch Group” Motorists are still breaking the 30mph Speed Limit on Chase Road, and through the night it is used as a racetrack by so called “Cruisers”,,I am sure those taking part have the best will in the world. But I doubt the outcome will be of benefit to residents in this area
