Lichfield Superbikes star Gary Mason had to wait to get on his new ride in Spain – after snow had blocked the track!
The MSS Colchester Kawasaki rider and his team-mate Simon Andrews had to wait for the snow to be cleared from the Guadix circuit before they could ride the new Ninja ZX-10R.
But once he did get on the track, Mason clocked up more than 30 laps in the testing session which was geared towards configuring the new electronics system.
A team spokesman said:
“Unbelievably, we awoke to a thick blanket of snow but unlike Britain this soon melted, allowing the riders to gain meaningful practice and log valuable data.”
