Shenstone Pathfinder FC Reserves thwarted Elmdon’s chances of going top of the Birmingham AFA League Division Four with a much improved performance.

Debutantes Alexis Harris and James Liddiard gave the Shenstone manager options to change things around after the recent poor run of results. And it seemed to pay off after Shenstone took an early lead when Tom Bailey gambled on a loose ball on the edge of the the box to cooly finish over the keeper’s head.

A few minutes later Richard Lee’s stepped up to curl a fantastic free-kick past a helpless Elmdon keeper for his 17th goal of the season.

The visitors still in a state of shock then started to kick in to gear and put heavy pressure on the Shenstone defence to grab two goals back before half-time.

In the second half Eldom continued where they left off and were unlucky to have a goal disallowed due to a controversial hand ball. However Shenstone dug in deep and deserved a share of the points.

Man of the match was Tom Bailey who is now finding some form in front of goal.

Next Saturday (March 20th) Pathfinder are away to Bearwood Athletic, 2.30pm kick off.
