Lichfield Superbikes star Gary Mason has made good use of a three day test in Spain.

Mason and MSS Colchester Kawasaki team-mate Simon Andrews went through a large amount of new manufactured parts and different settings as they gear up for the season-opener at Brands Hatch on April 4.

The Lichfield rider admitted he was just relieved to get back on the track.

He explained:

“The last time I rode a bike seems like a year ago – you really need a couple of days to get back in the swing of it!

“We worked through so much equipment, the team were well prepared and I felt at home with the way they work immediately. To be fair I still have the L plates on but I know come Brands Hatch I’ll be right up there!”

MSS Colchester Kawasaki Team Owner, Nick Morgan added:

“If I’m honest we needed one more day, we tested so much stuff and found good direction that I know tomorrow would have been great for those morale boosting times but ultimately that’s not what we’re here for anyway. We’ve got some spot on reference points for both chassis and the new electronics package and the guys kept to their jobs, taking a section of the testing each.”

The team now travel back to the UK to get in two more British tests before the season starts.
