Captain confident title-chasing Lichfield RUFC will keep their focus

Lichfield RUFC captain Dave Bassett is urging his team-mates not to get carried away after two strong away performances.

The Myrtle Greens fought hard for a 32-32 draw at Ludlow before returning to winning ways with a victory over Stafford.

And the win over local rivals Stafford means that Lichfield now lie a point behind leaders Old Salts with two games in hand.

However, skipper Bassett has urged his colleagues to keep their focus. He said:

“We will not be over-confident after two tough away fixtures but we will be determined not to let the advantage we have worked so hard to achieve slip from our grasp.”

Lichfield will take a break from league action this evening (March 17th) when they entertain Longton (kick-off 7.45pm), before facing Shrewsbury at home on Saturday (March 20th) in a 2.15pm kick-off.
