Burntwood RUFC U16 24 Leek RUFC U16 12

Burntwood U16s rounded off their league campaign with a 24-12 victory over Leek to finish second in the table.

Despite several players being absent on Sport Relief activities, their reshuffled line-up gelled well to create first half tries for Ashley Cockrill, Jordan Wood and Scott Minnis all the result of quick ruck ball and safe handling. Liam Degville added two conversions. Leek scored a try to make it 19-5.

The visitors enjoyed more possession after the break and reduced the deficit to 19-12 and looked dangerous in the backs.

Burntwood made the game safe when the forwards and backs combined to put Joshua Hall over for a try in the corner.

The coaching staff thank the players for their hard work and commitment during a successful league season.
