A new branch of the British National Party has opened in Lichfield. The launch was announced on Sunday by West Midlands secretary, Mike Bell.

“The official launch of the new Lichfield group under Alex Sproule was held this week, attended by 36 people, many attending their first ever BNP meeting,” Mr Bell said.

“Mr Sproule has worked extremely hard in Lichfield and is now seeing his efforts being rewarded,” Mr Bell continued. “Until recently he had only seven members in his area, but in a matter of weeks this has jumped to more than 50.”

Alex Sproule was a candidate in the recent County Council elections, standing for election in the Lichfield North ward. He gained 337 votes in the elections which were the first to see a BNP candidate in that ward.

Talking about the launch, West Midlands organiser, Alwyn Deacon said it was “only the start of a very promising future for the West Midlands. There are plans for more new groups as the support grows in this region.”

The news comes after the BNP visited the city with their ‘truth truck’ following a debate over plans for a Mosque in Lichfield.

I hope they stop the Mosque.

“Unlike churches, mosques are not places of spirituality, peace and sanctuary. They are quasi-military citadels and centres of subversion, intimidation and aggression….Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey’s prime minister and ex-mayor of Istanbul, said that ‘the mosques are our barracks, the minarets our bayonets, the domes our helmets, and the believers our soldiers.’

“The noisy call to prayer is an act of dominance and aggression. The louder it is, the better. Mosques were always supposed to be built in high ground, or in the most imposing spot, towering over churches and synagogues, in the lands first conquered by Islam. Those aggressive skyward thrusting minarets were symbols of power, of dominance. And the same thing continued wherever Islam went.”

Whilst travelling to Cornwall by rail I was absolutely ammazed at the numbers of Minarets dominating the skyline in the Midlands. The thought of the noise generated by such a conglomeration beggars belief. The more so when you consider the Inman no longer climbs the tower to call the faithful to prayer but just has to switch on his PA system. I wonder if they are subject to noise abatement laws like the rest of us, or has the Government given special dispensation in order to try and win a few votes!

yawn… there isn’t going to be a mosque in Lichfield, so saying “I hope they stop the mosque” is mere rabble rousing. I hope everyone else stops these Nazis. I’m not one for speaking for others, but I do hope the good people of Lichfield see of the BNP with apathy!

Good work by the BNP. I hope they show the far left thugs who come out against them that the people of Britain will not stand for political violence, since the police and the majority of mainstream political hacks seem fine with letting the far left get their hands dirty. One day the people will wake up and realise just how badly they have been betrayed and lied to, and on that day the left wing bully boys who like attacking people with claw hammers may find themselves VERY lonely.

Looking at an article yesterday it said two thirds of britains want a complete ban on immigration,i wonder if it was the same two thirds that never voted in the recent elections ? Found this interesting on the andrew marr show on sunday.

It will be the apathy of the residents of Lichfield that will allow a Mosque to be built in the city, They must be aware that if a mosque is built then the population of muslims in Lichfield will increase.
I believe one honest BNP member is better than our current MPr who is hiding behind silence on his misuse of expenses.

why is it OK to accept MEPs from Sinn Fein, remembering that they have planted bombs. Have murdered members of the police or the armed forces. Have attempted to assassinate a Prime Minister, members of the Government and members of the Royal Family. Have stabbed people in the heart, gouged out their eyes or shot them in the kneecaps. Have smuggled guns and mortars, or formed and maintained an illegal army. Quite why you are more concerned by the presence of Nick Griffin as an MEP, who to my understanding has only passed an opinion and harmed no one, than the unrepentant terrorist Gerry Adams and co: is utterly bemusing.

As Winston Churchill once said ” one day the fascists will return as the anti fascists ” As for schooling, mine was done in the days of freedom of speech and expression and where racial harmony was a bless OLD SON i take it you went to school with jamacians, hindu’s and sikhs ? In reply to Kwelos’ comment, your comment is a perfect example of the utter ignorance and misrepresentation of the Islamic faith being spread by parties like the BNP. Claiming that mosques are ‘quasi-military citadels’ in comparison to the ‘spirituality, peace and sanctuary’ of Christian churches is utter rubbish. Every religion has its fundamentalists; the views and actions of the minority should not be applied to every member of the Islamic faith. A mosque in Lichfield would be a step forward and perhaps convince people like this that their preconceptions are completely wrong; stopping the mosque being built would merely reinforce these preconceptions and help the cause of extreme right-wing parties like the BNP.

nonoftheabove

So we have to take on board the islamic faith but deny the BNP. I believe the documentary that was shown recently on the TV was a fairer reflection of the events in a Mosque. It is difficult to deny this, unless you believe that this was a set up by the BBC.

During the last was the Germans and Italians living in this country where interred as potential enemies, today we do not do that we allow them to walk amongst us.

In reply to liberal. Look at my post again. It wasn’t I who originally said that mosques are paramilitary citadels. Nor was it the BNP. It was in fact none other than Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the moderate Muslim Prime Minister of Turkey.

I see mr salam has put in for his mosque application again after praying outside curborough community centre (todays mercury) police women are being made to wear scarfs in senstive muslim areas, police officers being trained on aspects of the koran, muslims in tower hamlets have applied to have 380,000 bodies be dug up to be turned into a muslim cemetery ? pubs being converted into mosques churches being converted into mosques. Now forgive me for saying this but im not centre,im not far left or far right of centre, but something tells me something is getting a wee bit spooky here.

I am not sure Spooky is strong enough, I am terified for the future of my grandchildren. Mr Salam is manipulating the media to get his own way, the local papers should be more sensitive to the majority not pamper to this movement. As I have said previously 20 thousand people voted against a mosque in Dudley and the powers that be overruled them, I forecast the same happening in Lichfield resulting in a massive rise in the muslim population and a massive drop in house prices. I am certainly not a ‘far right’ but we must make a stand somewhere if we are to retain the British way of life.

I for one am pleased that the general public have now the option of voting for a party that opposes mass unchecked immigration into these tiny islands as the main ones bypass the issue time and time again. The number of illegal immigrants that are in this country at the moment is a sure testament to the way our borders are protected.

Unconcerned Citizen

I think the BNP will gain little ground in Lichfield or anywhere else.
The recent ‘official’ lauch party must have been held in secret – hardly a recipe for political success.
Also with Britain being a capitalist country (requiring growth) it suffering declining birthrates and the elderly living longer, immigrants are a necessity or the economy will collapse (no pun intended there).

The real problem is a lack of re-investment of profits. (U.K is one of the richest countries in the world in recent times if reports are to be belived). Worse still, these profits are often invested in developing countries rather than here.
If huge corporate profits aren’t reinvested here, this creates the lack of opportunities we have and thus having to compete for jobs by being he whom accepts the lowest wage.
So – the economic pies growth is stiffled – the employees take a smaller cut (to secure employment) and the corporations therefore make more money for taking no extra financial risk.
In the meantime, their rich buddies who own the newspapers (such as the daily mail) print stories blaming immigrants for all our problems.

Nick Griffin the partys leader is a wealthy landowner – he certainly won’t be gunning for a Classless socialist state like some of the BNP manifesto suggests (workers co-operatives etc). So a form of capitalism or fascism would remain, and so will immigration.

In the meantime, manufacturing jobs are being moved to developing countries for cheaper labour rather than being taken by immigrants. We compete in an international labour market rather than just the local one.
However, Britain does need to take better control of its borders (asylum seekers should stay at the first safe country – this burden should then be shared amongst EU states). Britain has sensible immigration policies already. The problem is that they are not enforced.

The BNPs policy of money/help for repatriation is belive it or not – already available right now for any immigrant who wishes to return to thier place of origin.
Ideas of a white indigenous race smells a little bit like Nazi Hitler to me.
History has shown this idea has failed before.

o'cearbhaill

Britain does not have a declining population, it doesn’t have a declining workforce; immigration is no fix for an aging population; there are no economic benefits in terms of GDP per capita. Did a recent study by Civitas conclude that? Immigration should simply be shown to be beneficial to the people of Britain. It shouldn’t be used as a multi cultural experiment forced on the population under the guise of ” enrichment” without debate. Indigenous people don’t have to be white, but why is it ” nazi ” when it is.

Unconcerned citizen has made some very valid points, but none of these lofty aims will be achieved unless we get change in the political sytem. It doe s not matter that the BNP leader is a wealthy landowner, this could be said of all of the political leaders, and currently he has not increased his wealth by the misuse of expenses.
We currently have a corrupt houses of parliament that has already changed the proposals on MP’s expenses in order to ensure that their theft continues.
All of the major political parties have let the UK public down and the public must be given a say and more importantly the MP’s MUST listen.
The UK is falling into a deep abyss that they will never get out of unless action is taken NOW.
The MP’ in charge of immigration says ‘he will lose no sleep if the population reaches 70 million, I believe secretely he is adding ‘ as long as they do not live next to me’ or ‘erect a mosque in my area’.
It is inconcievable that the BNP could get control of Parliament, but rthe major parties MUST be forced to listen, and I can see no other way.

Unconcerned Citizen .Some very good and fine points but i hardly think the BNP would go advertising in the mercury that they are holding a meeting, lets face it one their activists from Liverpool was recently hit in the head with a claw hammer by UAF (unite against fascism ?) thugs, and with their annual festival coming up in 2 weeks times the villagers of Denby face another nightmare again not from the BNP but the labour sponsored left who are being bussed in again. You make some very good points about capitalism.

Replying to o’cearbhaill
http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?ID=949
The above link shows a proportionally declining workforce.
So with capitalism requiring growth, we therefore need immigrants (or robots) to fix this. I would agree that fixing capitalisms failures via immigration is also doomend.

Regarding my Nazi comment, The BNP refers to ‘white indigenous people’ (of europe).
They only allow white people to join and wish to create a ‘white’ country. This seems very Nazi to me and i think it is a fair comparison.

I note the comment on a white only membership of the BNP, and wonder why we can have a Black Policemans association, and in America Black entertainment awards.

Why the Police in the UK can advertise a position for an ethnic minority candidate ONLY . There is protection for Gays, Women, Ethnic Minorites immigrants prisoners, rapists, . It appears to me that the people of the UK that require new protection laws are the blue eyed white men.

The points people often mention such as political correctness gone rather mad, immigration spiralling out of control, extremism and its terrorism are all valid issues that need addressing.
I don’t think the BNP and their ‘one colour’ solution is a sensible option.

Many aspects of the BNPs manifesto seem like common sense policies (just like all the other political parties whom of course have proven to be completely trustworthy).
However, the BNPs ultimate aim of a White indiginous population is my problem with the BNP.

To illustrate how silly they are i will give this situation.
What would the BNP do with a mixed race couple, with 4 children.
One child took after the father and is very Black, another Child after its mother and is very white. The 3rd child is somewhere in the middle. The mother swears the 4th child is the result of an extra marital affair with a white man.
Are they judged on skin colour alone? I’m sure that won’t satisfy some – after all, those children have african blood in them.
Or do we DNA test people to see they match a certain criteria?

What is the BNP and its fans position on this theoretical but real and very common situation of mixed race couples and their children?
I look forward to reading the solution to this ‘problem’.

Thank you for the Government stat link it’s interesting viewing. From experience I take all Government statistics with a grain of salt and do not accept them blindly as I so naively used to do. Information gathering and reports are best produced independently from Government interference as when it comes to justifying immigration Government stats will always be in favour of it. The population of the UK is not dwindling, don’t let anyone kid you. There are more births than there are deaths and the fact that we have an aging population is simply because people are living longer. Without immigration the UK population would grow very very gently. It is sheer madness to allow a nation with ancient traditions and where families can trace there origins back to William the Conqueror and beyond should allow it’s people to become a nation of immigrants like America within a generation. I agree with Unconcerned citizen on many point about capitalism but take Japan for instance. It doesn’t accept immigrants, but that hasn’t stopped it becoming one of the richest countries on earth. Why is that ?

nonoftheabove

I must admit I have never heard any of the BNP’s representitives claim that they want an all white nation, in fact it was said that their concernst where for people born in the UK, (Black or White). Their main targets, and if the truth be told the main targets of the majoirity of the UK population, black or white, is to stop or at least contral immigration.
I have no problems with this..
At least all of this keeps our friend Fabricant and his expenses out of the Blog

Answering o’cearbhaill, Japan is financially rich, it does make great cars and some fantastical electronic marvels along with its banking/ financial industries.

It also allows immigration:-

http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2221.html

“Foreigners, who have resided in Japan for at least five consecutive years (less if married to a Japanese national), have shown good conduct, have never plotted against the Japanese government, have sufficient assets or ability to make an independent living and are willing to renounce any other citizenship held, can be granted Japanese citizenship. ”

So, Japan does accept immigrants and as you say, it is one of the richest countries on the earth.
Rich nations attract immigrants and these immigrants are beneficial to any capitalist employer – cheap and willing labour.

A debate about immigration is not really worth entering. I agree with many peoples views on immigration.
Personally i think mass immigration is a symptom of capitalism.
The hard fact of the matter is the BNP are not just anti immigration… they are a white supremist party.
Not all immigrants are Brown. A large number here are white – quite a hole in the BNPs plan.
I’ve read that the BNP won’t force anyone to leave – non whites will be allowed to remain as ‘guests’.
If this is true, it renders the BNP a useless dissapointment to its fans, if it is untrue the BNP may have more sinister plans for those unwilling to leave.

I thought i’d take a moment to answer ‘nonoftheabove’ points regarding organisations such as the police advertising for ethnic minorities and organisations for minority groups such as protecting rapists.

Lets say for starters that two wrongs don’t make a right.

Justifying a Whites only Nationalist political party because of the ‘black american entertainment awards’ or the ‘black police officers association’ doesn’t really add up does it?

I disagree with laws protecting minority groups. The law should be strong enough to deal with bullies and discrimintation without needing to go into the finer details.
If a guy assaults me in a pub, i think he should be punished as severley as a guy who is being punished for a racially motivated attack. I certainly don’t think the racist guy sould be punished less as the law is unfair. Punish the other guy to the same level.

Really we should aim for more protection for all, rather than moaning about any current imbalances.

Besides – political corectness and multi-culturalism seems to be more about ‘divide and conquer’ rather than any true sense of justice.
Its certainly worked on ‘nonoftheabove’.

Thank you for the Japanese immigration link. Now that’s a system that appears to make total common sense. I suggest everybody have a look at it. I won’t try and paraphrase it all here but in a nutshell the system appears to be for the overall benefit of the country not for the benefit of the immigrant. It appears highly controlled too. There doesn’t appear to be any mention of the ridiculously generous family reunion policy that we continue to include in our failing system. My guess is that as we approach the impending General Election there will be a high profile “toughening ” of our immigration policy in an attempt to claw back some of the Labour party’s deserting voters. But nothing concrete will be done , we know this; they will fudge and dodge and the demographics of the UK will continue to change. By they I mean the three main parties.

Thank you Adam for the link. it’s a very worrying development. However, I thought that the Lichfield Council had not received or approved an application from salam to create/build his mosque yet. So this proves that they must have given him the “nod” to a pending application or he is just out for another bit of publicity to his profile or worse , they have approved it. I’d like to know. The Council would undoubtedly want to know what the building was going to be used for if he does buy it. I’m off to write to the Council and find out. You’d think I had nothing better to do on a nice day like this hey? Incidentally, the building looks really small; how is he going to cram in his hundreds of worshipers which he claims he has and where would they all park . Probably ferried in from Burton and Birmingham and Walsall mosques to make up the numbers. The Birmingham Evening mail will be applauding him!!!teee heee

Adam

Hmmmmmm……..hundreds of worshippers? Look at the photograph of the worshippers the Lichfield Mercury showed when they were praying outdoors on the lawn. They knew the press photographer was coming and they only managed to scrape together 10 people! My guess is that the Council know nothing about this bid for the old school. It’s yet another piece of publicity. It’s amazing that there seemed to be a lot of opposition to his plans on Facebook yet people are not boycotting his, and others’ , restaurants. Maybe people don’t vote with their feet/ wallets any more.

Piece from the Express and Star ( thanks to Adam ) Tues. 11th August
Staffordshire County Council is selling the small Stowe Teaching Unit in Stowe Street, and the city’s Muslim Community Association has confirmed that it will be making an offer. Association member Abdul Salam, aged 50, told the Express & Star: “We have been to view the building and we are planning to make an offer to buy it. It’s in a lovely spot.”
In the past motorists used the drive to get to the building before and after school, but elderly residents fear that when the building is taken over it will see a massive increase in traffic using the tiny cul-de-sac.
Mr Salam said: “I do have sympathy with the residents but we wouldn’t create any problems. It would simply be polite and respectful people visiting the building to pray. A quote also used by several muslims in the past .
“There wouldn’t be any loud music like there might be if it was turned into young people’s apartments. We’re not talking about putting a disco in there.” Salam also said previously that they may get up to a 1000 visiting the mosque , hope Lichfield planning authority take note as 1000 would arrive in many cars , and are their any facilities for this amount of cars in this area???
Mr Salam, who has lived in London and Gloucester, describes Lichfield as ‘one of the classic towns left’ . Another quote by salam re Lichfield
“I would like to keep this exactly the same,” he said
Then goes on to say “We are not a big community but we are a fast-growing community and it is of great concern to us.
“People are attracted to Lichfield, it is a nice place to live and more people are moving here.”
At present, Lichfield’s Muslim men carry out their five times daily prayers at a hired room in Curborough Community Centre.

But Mr Salam, who established the Eastern Eye restaurant in Bird Street, said that the Islamic community in Lichfield needed a place to worship. But fails to say that they knew before they moved here that their was no mosque in Lichfield.
He said Muslims in the city had to travel to Birmingham or Burton to visit a mosque.
Finally the Jewish community have never requested a synagogue but travel to different areas to pray so why cant these people do the same.

People of Lichfield must decide is this their future its no good being pig ignorant anymore they must decide the future for their kids because the country is going to turn into an islamic state within 30 years at the current rate and demographics proove this.It will be interesting to see the minutes from the council meeting between Mr Salam and Richard King from the council. In the wake of the riot in Birmingham city centre we have alreay seen respect councillor for Sparkhill Salma Yaqoob and Dewsbury MP Shahid Malik get high on their islamic horse and not one person in goverment has spoken out ? personally i think the pair should be up charges of racial incitement because if the likes of Griffin & co spoke like these pair they would be up in crown court before you could say “hocus pocus”

I would hazzard a guess that the house prices surrounding the area for this proposed mosque have dropped 10% overnight. If permission is granted these homes will be sold cheaply and will be taken over at a bargain price by the Muslim community thus forming a town of muslims within a town.. The Lichfield residents should purchase the property and convert it into a new meeting centre for religious studies. but it would be very doubtful that planning permission would be granted for anything other than a mosque. If this happens would all Lichfield residents remember this at the next elections.

I understood that the Mosque in Burton had caused a lot of problems with the worshippers fighting each other in the street http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/staffordshire/6541967.stm The sister of one of my colleagues was a traffic warden (parking attendant) in Birmingham and when she went to ticket the triple parking outside a Mosque she was met with the most vile abuse from the worshippers. I find it difficult to reconcile how a group can supposedly be worshipping peacefully one minute and then come out making racist threats of rape and violence the next minute. I can only assume that the preaching is firing people up into some kind of aggressive mindset.

Mr Salam runs the Eastern Eye restaurant in Bird Street. Lichfield DC Environmental Health Department have inspected the restaurant and have given it a star rating. This information is available at http://www.ratemyplace.org.uk (http://www.ratemyplace.org.uk/uploads/fhi-ms%20eastern%20eye%20lichfield%20281008.pdf) Some people may think that if Mr Salam shows as little regard to planning laws as he does to food hygiene laws then he will just ride roughshod over the planning system. It’s interesting to read about the standards he believes are acceptable in his restaurant; does he apply the same disregard for the law to all his business interests?
