The campaign by Lichfield District Council has seen patrols stepped up at areas such as Beacon Park, Chasewater Country Park and Darnford Park.
Fines of up to £80 were issued to walkers who failed to pick up the mess from their dogs.
Councillor Ian Pritchard, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Health and Environmental Protection, said:
“No one likes seeing dog mess. It blights our parks and streets and shows a total lack of respect for the local community. All dog walkers must always remember to check that they have a number of bags to collect their dog’s mess in, before going out for a walk.
“We will continue our patrols, and will take action against anyone we see not taking responsibility for their dogs. This could take the form of a fixed penalty notice of up to £80 or a fine of up to £1,000, if we decide to prosecute.”
