A new guided tour is set to showcase Lichfield’s green spaces.

The hour and a half Stroll Around the Gardens of Lichfield walk will take visitors to Stowe Pool and along Pool Walk towards Beacon Park.

The event has been organised by Lichfield District Council’s Tourism team and will showcase some of the changes being made to the city’s parks as Beacon Park, Minster Pool and Walk, and the Garden of Remembrance are all being restored and transformed as part of the Historic Parks Project.

Sue Baird, Green Badge Tour Guide who is leading the walk, said:

“I was keen to come up with a tour that celebrates all the charming public gardens and parks in Lichfield. As they are all in easy reach of each other, it works very well as a walking tour and I hope lots of people will join me on one of the four dates. I will also be going into some detail about the parks project, so it should be quite interesting for people who are curious to know more about what the multi million pound historic parks project involves.”

And for those after something different there is also a Pubs, Priests and Prostitutes tour taking place on May 29 at 2pm.

The Stroll Around the Gardens of Lichfield walk takes place on May 8 and June 12 at 2pm and May 6 and June 10 at 6pm.

All the tours cost £2.95 and can be booked at the Tourist Information Centre at the Lichfield Garrick or by calling 01543 412112.
