Chasetown FC Reserves kept themselves alive in the Championship race with a comfortable victory over Gresley.

The Scholars took the lead on 14 minutes when a measured through ball from Daniel O’Callaghan to Jack Scandrett split the Gresley defence and the striker made no mistake when slotting the ball wide of Gresley keeper Baldwin and into the bottom corner of the net.

The second and final goal of the game came in the 39th minute, a corner from the left by Daniel O’Callaghan was only half cleared by the Gresley defence to Jimmy Welnitschuk on the edge of the box. He turned his marker before striking high into the Gresley net past the stationary Baldwin.

In the second half the busy Baldwin produced fine stops from Corey Currithers, Drew Aiton and Chad Degville-Cross to prevent any further scoring.
